Peace Studies & Sociology
Carli Steelman (peace studies and sociology) graduated from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock in 2013 with a B.A. in political science. She received an M.A. in political science from the University of New Mexico in 2015. Her master’s thesis examined how individual levels of social capital impact economic development outcomes in post-conflict Bosnia-Herzegovina.
Carli is interested in culture, political sociology, and organizations. Her current research explores how states craft official narratives of conflict through memorialization and public commemorations. She is a University Presidential Fellow and a 2019-2020 Pepe Fellow.
