Community Theatre

The 2nd annual Conference on Community Theater for Social Justice Action conference is presented by InterAction, in partnership with the Civil Rights Heritage Center, Shakespeare at Notre Dame, Notre Dame Community Relations, the Community Foundation of St. Joseph County, and Eco Owl Press. The Kroc Institute is excited to partner with InterAction, a South Bend area nonprofit co-founded by two University of Notre Dame peace studies alumni, Deandra Cadet, B.A. '15, and Taeyin ChoGlueck, B.A. '14, to support this event.

This year’s conference will focus on the theme, Uplifting Young People of Color (YPOC). The conference welcomes students, activists, community organizers, theater practitioners, educators, and community members to strategize on how we can uplift YPOC in our communities, theaters, and institutions.

On Saturday, April 27, at 4:00 p.m., youth activist for environmental and racial justice Nalleli Cobo will present the conference's keynote address at the St. Joseph County Public Library. Tickets for the keynote address are $10 and available to the public.
