InterAction Conference on Community Theater for Social Justice Action
The inaugural Conference on Community Theater for Social Justice Action is presented by InterAction, in partnership with the Civil Rights Heritage Center, Indiana University South Bend Women's and Gender Studies, and ND Show Some Skin. The purpose of this conference is to create a space for deep strategizing among experts - community theater-makers, radically inclusive theater-makers in traditional theaters, community organizers, artist activists and others.
On Saturday, April 28, at 7:00 p.m., poet and activist Ntozoke Shange will present the conference's keynote address at the South Bend Civic Theater. Shange is a poet, novelist, playwright, performer and the creator of For colored girls who have considered suicide / When the rainbow is enuf.
The keynote address is free and open to the public. Tickets will be on sale beginning April 1 through the South Bend Civic Theatre.
The Kroc Institute is excited to partner with InterAction, a South Bend area nonprofit co-founded by two University of Notre Dame peace studies alumni, Deandra Cadet, B.A. '15, and Taeyin ChoGlueck, B.A. '14, to support this event.
