Dr. Helal Khan, who graduated with his Ph.D. in 2023 (peace studies & anthropology) has accepted a Lecturer position at Georgetown University's Justice and Peace Studies (JUPS) program starting in August, an exciting next step in Helal’s career.

Cat Gargano (peace studies & psychology) has been selected for a prestigious Fulbright García-Robles Research Award to conduct her dissertation research in Tijuana, México starting in the fall. Her dissertation is entitled: “Migrant and Refugee Insights: Policies, Observations, Strengths, & Adaptations (MARIPOSA).”

Sean Raming (peace studies & history) has won the highly prestigious Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum Guggenheim Predoctoral Fellowship.

Debora Rogo (peace studies & history) was honored with an Outstanding Graduate Student Teaching Assistant Award from the Kaneb Center for Teaching Excellence, part of Notre Dame Learning, and the Graduate School. The award recognizes graduate students who demonstrate excellent teaching at Notre Dame.

Flora X. Tang (peace studies & theology) has won an extremely sought-after Louisville Institute Dissertation fellowships, one of only eight recipients out of more than 130 applicants. The Louisville Institute exists to "work with people and institutions of promise to generate knowledge, communicate insights, nurture practices and renew and sustain institutions that help make accessible and effective the religious resources upon which a flourishing and humane society depends."

Master of Global Affairs, International Peace Studies concentration alumni, Euda Fils (MGA ‘23), and Ciera Griffin (MGA '24), have been named finalists for the Presidential Management Fellowship, the U.S. government's flagship leadership development program.

Master of Global Affairs, International Peace Studies concentration alums Adeela Firdous (MGA ‘24), Angela Seidu (MGA ‘24), Tes Osborne (MGA ‘24), and Noha Elsebaie (MGA ‘24) were awarded Keough Launch Fellowships, which offer up to $6,000 to support short-term, post-graduate practical experiences that help jump-start the careers of recent MGA graduates.
