Classes began this week for Notre Dame students, including 16 new M.A. students and 4 new Ph.D. students in peace studies.

The Kroc Institute recognized Notre Dame’s peace studies class of 2009 during its commencement weekend ceremonies.

The Kroc Institute will recognize Notre Dame’s peace studies class of 2009 — 18 master’s students and 80 undergraduates.

Kroc master’s students are exploring connections between gender and peacebuilding by pursuing a new graduate-level minor in gender studies.

Students from across North America gathered at Notre Dame on April 3-4 for the annual Student Peace Conference. The conference was planned and directed entirely by undergraduates.

A new class of peace studies master's students graduated, then gathered with friends, family, and faculty and staff at the Kroc Institute for a recognition ceremony.

Students assembled for class in the morning and in the afternoon, on this and that side of the Atlantic, in North America and Europe, all together and at the same time.  Throughout these confusing arrangements, it hardly seems necessary to add, the television was left on.
