Teaching Peace in the 21st Century

From June 14-19, nearly 50 faculty from 19 colleges and universities across the United States attended the Kroc Institute's first Summer Institute for Faculty.

"Teaching Peace in the 21st Century," a weeklong institute, was created in response to growing interest in peace studies at institutions of higher education. Participants came from colleges and universities around the country.

The Institute was designed to guide teams of faculty seeking to launch peace studies programs, as well as for those wanting to expand existing peace studies programs. George A. Lopez, an internationally recognized authority on peace studies program development, led the Institute, along with about a dozen faculty and staff from the Kroc Institute.
