Badi Foster

We at the Kroc Institute mourn the death of Badi Foster, a member of the Institute’s Advisory Council (now Advisory Board) since 2005. Badi passed away peacefully at his home in Evanston, Illinois, on January 31, 2019.

Throughout his 14 years with the Kroc Institute, Badi brought to the Board deep wisdom and an enthusiasm and passion for the work of peacebuilding. In his career and through his volunteer commitments, Badi demonstrated a lifelong commitment to public service, whether through teaching in traditional academic settings or providing grounded leadership within organizations focused on advancing human dignity and expanding access to key services for all people.

We will miss Badi’s positivity and his phenomenal commitment to making a Notre Dame education in peace studies accessible to brilliant individuals from all around the world. We are grateful for his many years of service to Notre Dame and to Kroc, and for the lasting impact he has made on our staff, faculty, and students.

Our thoughts are with his wife, Juanita, and the rest of his family as they mourn this significant loss.
