The Kroc Institute Mediation Program has been involved in the production of a new policy research report on mediation and power-sharing. Mediation Program Director Laurie Nathan and Visiting Fellow David Lanz have been investigating the role of mediation in the long-term performance of power-sharing arrangements in peace agreements.

Power-sharing is often necessary in transitions from intra-state war to peace, but can become destabilizing in the long run, thus making it a critical issue for research.

The project is run by swisspeace with support from the Kroc Institute. It was the recipient of a prestigious grant from the United States Institute of Peace in 2018.
