Mediation Program adds two senior advisors

The Kroc Institute’s Mediation Program is proud to announce the appointment of two senior advisors, Justin De Leon and João Honwana

Justin DeLeon

De Leon was previously visiting assistant professor at the Kroc Institute and, with Ashley Bohrer, assistant professor of gender and peace studies, co-hosts Pedagogies for Peace, a podcast series that explores intersectional and decolonial approaches to teaching. His praxis-based research explores engagements of tradition and culture of the Lakota Sioux of South Dakota. 

Joao Honwana

Honwana was the 2017 Sérgio Vieira de Mello Chair at Seton Hall University. He is a retired senior official of the United Nations, having served as Representative of the UN Secretary General in Guinea Bissau (2004-2006) and Director of Africa Divisions 1 & 2 in the Department of Political Affairs (2007-2016).
