Laurie Nathan to Develop Mediation Protocol

Professor Laurie Nathan, Mediation Program Director and Professor of the Practice of Mediation, has been awarded a contract to develop a Mediation Protocol for the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD).

IGAD is the regional organization responsible for the maintenance of peace and security in the Horn of Africa. The organization has been the principal mediator endeavoring to end the civil war in South Sudan. In 2005, it mediated an end to the war in Sudan.

Nathan has previously supported IGAD in developing its Mediation Support Unit and Mediation Strategy.
