Current Events Coffee Hour: Psychosocial Support in Conflict Settings

-

Location: Peace Lounge, Hesburgh Center for International Studies

Peace Lounge 2

Featuring Laura Miller-Graff, Associate Professor of Psychology and Peace Studies; Director of Undergraduate Studies

Several times a semester, a different member of the Kroc Institute community will facilitate an informal conversation about a timely topic relating to their work or research. Undergraduate and graduate students are invited to join us for these chats about the ongoing work of peace studies in the world. Coffee, tea, and refreshments provided.

The topic for September 23 will focus on strategies for providing support for individual and community psychological and social needs in areas impacted by violence and conflict. Professor Miller-Graff’s work and research focuses on children who have multiple traumatic exposures and investigates resulting patterns of resilience and psychopathology, including the development of post-traumatic stress symptoms.
