History & Peace Studies
Laura Weis (history & peace studies) graduated from Saint Louis University in 2004 with B.A. degrees in history and sociology. She has conducted research on foreign policy issues and lobbied in Washington, D.C., with the Friends Committee on National Legislation and the American Friends Service Committee. She also has helped survey post-conflict recovery programs in Aceh, Indonesia.
Laura's research interests include the salience of Islam in the development and implementation of U.S. foreign policy over time. Her dissertation will focus on U.S. relations with Iraq and Indonesia from 1954-1966. Laura was a Mullen Family Fellow for the 2012-2013 academic year.
