Professor Mary Ellen O'Connell met international human rights lawyer Amal Clooney in New York City at an Oct. 22 event sponsored by the American Society of International Law. The event provided an opportunity to hear about Ms. Clooney's work to promote human rights and the global rule of law.
Professor O'Connell is the Robert and Marion Short Professor of Law at Notre Dame's Law School and Research Professor of International Dispute Resolution at the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies. She is also a past vice president of the ASIL and author of the forthcoming book, The Art of Law in the International Community (Cambridge University Press, 2019).
