Applications are now being accepted for the Master’s in Global Affairs – Peace Studies Concentration for Fall 2018. The peace studies concentration continues the Kroc Institute's 30-year tradition of training peacebuilders to meet the challenges of global violence. At the Kroc Institute, we emphasize strategic peacebuilding, ensuring that our graduates are able both to think critically about the causes of violence and act decisively to build the conditions that lead to human flourishing.

In the two-year Master’s of Global Affairs, all students undertake an interdisciplinary core curriculum. Students in the Peace Studies Concentration receive specialized training in the Foundations of Peace Studies and in Strategic Peacebuilding. A hallmark of the program is an extended six-month field internship experience with an organization dedicated to working for peace and justice. Field site locations include Jerusalem, Nairobi, Cape Town, Washington D.C. and Colombia. Our field organizations range from policy-oriented think tanks to civil society groups to local grassroots organizations. While in the field students also conduct independent research that serves as the basis for a final Master’s Capstone Project.

All admitted students to the MGA-Peace Studies program are eligible for a full scholarship that covers tuition and a living stipend. Costs associated with the field internship experience are covered as well. The application deadline for Fall 2018 is December 15, 2017. Please click on this link to begin your application on-line.
