South Sudan’s Peace Process at a Crossroads: New Data from Juba and Notre Dame

Location: Keough School of Global Affairs Washington D.C. office, 1400 16th St. NW, Suite 120

The implementation of South Sudan’s revitalized peace agreement is at a critical juncture as the UN Security Council expresses new concerns about the growing humanitarian and economic crisis.

Signatories to the agreement face a November 12 deadline to form a unity government. Is peace within reach or will insecurity persist?

Experts from the Reconstituted Joint Monitoring and Evaluation Commission in Juba, South Sudan, and the University of Notre Dame will share new data and comparative insights from the Peace Accords Matrix Project and discuss ways to move the process forward.

This event is presented by the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies at Notre Dame’s Keough School of Global Affairs.
