Preventing violent conflict is an issue of great concern for the United Nations, the World Bank, and other international and domestic actors. Yet insufficient attention has been given to the lessons that can be learned from successful and failed cases of diplomatic action taken to prevent conflicts from becoming violent.

Join us for a half-day seminar exploring the art and science of preventive diplomacy at this symposium for practitioners and scholars. This event is co-sponsored by the Mediation Program of the Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies and the United States Institute of Peace.
