Laurel Stone manages several grant and research projects for the Policy Studies Program and Peace Accords Matrix Barometer Initiative at the Kroc Institute. She is co-editor of the volume Civil Society, Peace, and Power (Rowman & Littlefield, 2016) and assistant editor of Peace Policy.
Stone joined the Kroc Institute in 2014 as a research associate, and most recently held the role of program manager for the Policy Studies Program. She has worked with several nonprofit organizations focused on policy analysis, human security, and humanitarian aid. She also has participated in relief work in Kenya, Burundi, Cambodia, and the Dominican Republic.
Stone earned a master's degree from the Seton Hall School of Diplomacy and International Relations, where she specialized in conflict resolution and international security. Her graduate thesis analyzed the role of women in peace agreements, with excerpts published in The Guardian and a policy report by the International Peace Institute. She earned a bachelor’s degree in international relations and a minor in public policy from Indiana Wesleyan University.
