Angeliki A. Kanavou is a conflict resolution analyst, who received her B.A. in Political Science/International Studies from Panteion University, Athens, Greece; M.A. in Foreign Policy Analysis, and Ph.D. in International Relations/Communications from the University of Southern California. Her work focuses on political-psychological aspects of peace building - the challenges of peace, as she refers to them. Her dissertation on the role of values in post-settlement processes focuses on the case of Cyprus (1959-1974) and offers a value-based framework of analyses of political processes after the signing of peace agreements. She is currently working on a book that applies this framework in the cases of Ireland and India, Pakistan and an article on authoritarian leadership in ethnic conflicts. Kanavou was a research fellow at the Program on Negotiation at Harvard Law School (1999-2001) and has taught at the University of Southern California and Chapman University.
