New Report on Enhancing the Implementation of Security Council Sanctions

On 30 April 2007 the Joan B. Kroc Institute for International Peace Studies and the Fourth Freedom Forum cosponsored a sanctions symposium at the United Nations in cooperation with the Permanent Mission of Greece to the United Nations. Cosponsoring organizations included The Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University and the Stockholm Process on Targeted Sanctions at Uppsala University. Kroc Institute professors George A. Lopez, David Cortright, and Peter Wallensteen spoke at the event and met with UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, who specifically mentioned the work of the Kroc Institute and Fourth Freedom Forum in his keynote address.
The symposium report is available <symposium report.pdf>.
Please contact Linda Gerber-Stellingwerf <lgerber@fourthfreedom.org> to request copies of prepared statements by panelists and/or rapporteurs’ reports from the working group sessions.
