The Joan B. Kroc
Institute for International Peace Studies seeks outstanding
students to participate in its challenging program of graduate
study leading to the Master of Arts degree in Peace Studies.
The multidisciplinary program is designed to equip students
with both theoretical understanding and practical skills.
It prepares graduates for careers in peacebuilding, including
scholarly and policy research, teaching, public service in
government and in non-governmental organizations, social action,
diplomacy, and conflict transformation. At the Kroc Institute,
Peace Studies is defined in the broadest terms as research,
education and training towards building conditions necessary
for peace, constructive social change, equitable social and
economic development, a sustainable global ecology, and universal
respect for human rights.
The Kroc Institute seeks candidates
for admission from throughout the world, of diverse cultural,
religious, and political backgrounds. Financial aid in the
form of scholarships, stipends, support for travel, and funded
internships is awarded to more than 90 percent of Kroc students.
Graduates of the institute now work in over eighty countries,
building on the integration of scholarship and praxis that
is the foundation of the Kroc educational experience.
