Jaleh Dashti-Gibson oversees the graduate and undergraduate peace studies programs, including curriculum, recruitment, admissions, financial aid, and student advising. She joined the Kroc Institute faculty in July 2005 after five years as an academic advisor in the University of Notre Dame's First Year of Studies program. She was concurrent assistant professor for the University Writing Program, the Arts and Letters Core Course, and the Department of Political Science. From May 2000 to January 2003, she directed the Balfour Hesburgh Scholars Program.
Dashti-Gibson holds an M.A. in peace studies (1992) from Notre Dame, where she also earned a Ph.D.in government and international studies (1998). Her dissertation was titled, "Enhancing Enforcement: A Framework for Monitoring Multilateral Economic Sanctions." She received a B.A. degree in 1990 from Texas A&M University, where she studied French and mathematics.
