Rick Jones and Joseph Muyango are the Kroc Institute’s 2010 Catholic Relief Services (CRS) fellows.
Based in El Salvador, Jones is the CRS Deputy Regional Director for Global Solidarity and Justice for Latin America and the Caribbean. At Kroc, he is exploring how to integrate peacebuilding into development programs.
Based in Rwanda, Muyango is a CRS Justice and Peace Project Manager. At Kroc, he is researching peacebuilding strategies and the role of reconciliation in post-genocide Rwanda.
The Kroc Institute and Catholic Relief Services have sponsored the CRS fellowships for five years. Past fellows have come from Burundi, Cameroon, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Senegal. The fellowships allow experienced CRS staff members to conduct research in an academic setting, while also sharing their professional insights with Kroc faculty, staff, and students.
