Free Online Materials on Peace Available

Author: kroc.nd.edu

Online materials for university classes on Islam, peace studies, and terrorism are freely available to students, teachers, and self-learners through the University of Notre Dame’s OpenCourseWare initiative.

Course materials include reading lists, lecture notes, faculty biographies – even assignments – for three peace studies courses taught by Kroc faculty:

  • Islamic Ethics of War and Peace (A. Rashied Omar)
  • Introduction to Peace Studies (George A. Lopez)
  • Terrorism, Peace, and Other Inconsistencies (George A. Lopez)

OpenCourseWare at Notre Dame offers access to materials for more than 40 undergraduate courses in disciplines ranging from Asian studies to political science. Internet access, intellectual curiosity, and the ability to read English are the only requirements. Courses do not include grades, credit hours, or access to the professor.

The OpenCourseWare Consortium is a worldwide collaboration of more than 200 higher education institutions, offering free and open digital publication of educational materials to advance education and empower people worldwide.
