Five new faculty members are joining the Kroc Institute this academic year.

Gary Goertz has been appointed Professor of Political Science and Peace Studies. Goertz is an expert on militarized inter-state disputes and the dynamics of inter-state rivalry. More about Professor Goertz »

Patrick Regan has been appointed Professor of Political Science and Peace Studies. Regan is an expert on the causes of civil war and the role of external actors in managing armed conflict. Jason Quinn has joined the Kroc Institute as Research Associate for the Peace Accords Matrix. Quinn earned his Ph.D. in comparative politics and international relations at University of North Texas. More about Jason Quinn »

Emmanuel Katongole will join the Kroc Institute as Associate Professor of Theology and Peace Studies. A Catholic priest originally from Uganda, Katongole is an expert in the study of Africa, the theology of reconciliation and lament, and Catholicism in the global South. He fills the first of 3 new faculty positions funded by the Provost’s Strategic Research Investment grant to Contending Modernities. His appointment begins in January 2013. Paola Bernardini has joined the Kroc Institute as Associate Director for Research for Contending Modernities. She earned her Ph.D. in philosophy from the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome. More about Paola Bernardini »
