Paolo G. Carozza (J.D. Harvard 1989) teaches and writes in
the areas of international law, international human rights,
European legal systems and comparative law. Before joining
the faculty of the Notre Dame Law School, Professor Carozza
clerked for the Supreme Court of the Federated States of Micronesia
(1989-90) and worked as an associate at the Washington, D.C.,
law firm of Arnold & Porter in its international practice
group, where he also did significant pro bono work in human
rights (1990-91, 1993-96). He also was a Ford Foundation Fellow
in Public International Law (1991-93), and has taught at Harvard
Law School, the University of Chile and The University of
Trento (Italy). His published works include Comparative Legal
Traditions in a Nutshell, with MaryAnn Glendon and Wallace
Gordon (West Publishing Co., 2d ed. 1999), La Corte Suprema
de Justicia y la seguridad juridica/"Seguridad Juridica"
and the Supreme Court of Argentina, with William D. Rogers
(Editorial Abaco (Argentina) 1995), and articles in Notre
Dame Law Review, Utah Law Review, California Law Review, and
Harvard Human Rights Yearbook. He has been a fellow of the
Kroc Institute since 1999.
