Rashied
Omar in Journal of Muslim Minority Affairs, vol.
22, no. 1 (2002).
Omar argues that religious pluralism in post-Apartheid South
Africa continues to make a difference to relations within
the broader society. It has contributed to the reconciliation
process, the sensitive transformation phase and, above all,
nation-building. However, to remain relevant in the long
term, religious pluralism must become a grass-roots movement
and to find intrinsic sources of religious inspiration.
